Skegness all-weather lifeboat Joel and April Grunnill
was paged to go to the aid of a lone yachtsman suffering from chest pains, located some 3.5 miles south east of Mablethorpe on the Lincolnshire coast.
Van Oord Dredger HAM 316 was working in the area and stayed along side the vessel until the lifeboat arrived.
After assisting the situation it was decided to transfer the yachts skipper to the dredger to make use of the large deck area available for UK Coastguard rescue helicopter based at Humberside airport to winch him onboard and evacuate to hospital.
2 volunteer crew from the lifeboat we put aboard the yacht and it was towed towards Grimsby, eventually being handed to Humber RNLI lifeboat.
Lifeboat returned to station at 10:00am.
