D-792 Marie Theresa Bertha Barrass

Station lifeboat

Marie Theresa Bertha Barrass was officially put on service at Skegness RNLI Lifeboat Station on Saturday 21st May 2016 following a catastrophic fire and subsequent loss at sea of Peterborough Beer Festival IV, whilst on service, searching for a missing person.

The new £31,000 D-class inshore lifeboat was provided directly from the RNLI's relief fleet to ensure that there was no gap in its lifesaving service. In 2019 the Skegness RNLI will receive a new Station D-class lifeboat to properly replace the loss of Peterborough Beer Festival IV.

The boat is 5 knots faster than the old D class and also has enhanced manoeuvrability, built in navigation system and is ideal for providing a rapid response to distress calls close to shore.
