Skegness inshore lifeboat was tasked to search for a kayaker, fallen from his kayak and lost in the Skegness area.
Coast Guard Search & Rescue Helicopter based at Humberside airport was scrambled to aid the search.
After launching the inshore lifeboat made its way to the kayakers partner, herself adrift and being blown East further out to sea with both her own, and the empty kayak alongside.
Once it was established the female was safe and Skegness all-weather Shannon Class lifeboat was en route to recover her and her equipment the inshore lifeboat commenced an expanding square search for the missing male.
The male was spotted by the crew 5 minutes in to the search and was recovered and medically assessed aboard the D class lifeboat.
Helicopter was returned to station.
once it was determined the casualty was fit he was taken ashore and changed in to some dry clothing and given a drink to help warm him. ILB refused and rehoused 19:45.
