Skegness Lifeboat Rescues Fishing Vessel
The anticipated busy bank holiday weekend got off to an early start yesterday (Friday) when the Skegness RNLI lifeboat launched to help a broken down fishing vessel.

The 60ft FV Fruitful Harvest was without power and drifting, with three people on board, approximately 32 miles north east of Skegness, near the Outer Dowsing Channel. Skegness lifeboat launched at 4:41am and two other vessels stood by the casualty until the lifeboat arrived.

In reasonably good conditions, the lifeboat approached the casualty at 6:45am and a tow line was attached for the journey back towards the Humber and the casualty’s home port of Grimsby.

The tow was transferred to the Humber RNLI lifeboat at 9am and Skegness lifeboat headed home, reaching Skegness at 11:30am after nearly seven hours at sea.
