Trawler in tow.
Skegness RNLI all weather lifeboat The Lincolnshire Poacher was called out to help a fishing vessel in trouble 12 miles east of Mablethorpe on Sunday evening. The Poacher launched at 8.45pm and was on scene with the vessel Quest at 9.35pm.
The Quest, registered in Oban, Scotland was working its way down to Portsmouth with a crew of four when it suffered fuel contamination causing it to drift with its tackle over the side and engine out of action.
Mablethorpe Atlantic 75 lifeboat stood by until the Skegness lifeboat arrived on scene and the Quest was then taken in tow to the anchorage at Spurn in the River Humber. The tow proceeded at seven knots and the pair arrived at Spurn after midnight with the Quest awaiting a further tow into Grimsby on Monday.
