A charity collection at the Hildreds Shopping Centre in Skegness has raised over £1,200 for Skegness RNLI.
The two-day event saw fundraisers and lifeboat crew members collecting in and outside the shopping centre on Friday and Saturday last week, raising a total of £1,246.72 from generous shoppers.
The Hildreds Shopping Centre
are long-running supporters of Skegness lifeboat station, offering regular opportunities for the charity to collect money on their premises.
Fundraising coordinator Joan Evison says the support is greatly appreciated: 'Everyone at the station really does appreciate the support we get from the Hildreds centre. They help us raise thousands of pounds every year to save lives at sea off the Lincolnshire coast.'
Collectors will be back at the Hildreds centre leading up to Lifeboat Day on 26 July, with a large model of the Lincolnshire Poacher lifeboat, built by centre staff, on display outside.
Skegness RNLI is always pleased to hear from anyone able to volunteer an hour (or more) of their time to help at a collection. If you think you can help, please call the station on 01754 763011 or email email@example.com.
