Avenue Club members raise over £1000 for RNLI Skegness.

Last week (Friday 7 April 2017) Members of the Avenue Club and volunteers from Skegness RNLI Lifebats attended a social evening to rais funds for the RNLI
For the second year running members of the Avenue Club Skegness have hosted an evening of Snooker and entertainment to help raise funds for the RNLI station at Skegness.
The evening was hosted by Chris Sawyer of the Avenue Club and managed to raise tremendous total of £1100.
Chas Tibble, Lifeboats Visits & Education Officer for the station accepted the cheque on behalf of the station and had great praise for the Club and recognised the importance of such local fundraising efforts.
He said "The sense of community in Skegness is very acute and the Avenue Club members have shown this in their efforts to help raise vital funds for us, for a wonderful second year” Chas went on to say "without this kind of effort from the public and local community we wouldn’t be able to deliver the lifesaving service which we invest so much time in, as we know, the RNLI relies entirely on donations and legacies for its funding. The avenue Club have been first rate in their support”
Chris Sawyer speaking on behalf of the Club said that they were proud and pleased to be involved in the support of the RNLI in Skegness, raising over £1100 for the charity by hold a social evening for its members and the volunteer crew form Skegness RNLI.
